IMS Pro Tool kit, introduced in 2008, allows for the IMS bearing to be replaced as part of preventative maintenance for the 1997-2008 M96/M97 engine. This kit includes the required IMS bearing puller and driver and well as camshaft and crankshaft locks for installation of IMS Retrofit, IMS Solution, and RND RS Roller IMS bearing kits. Kit also includes adapters to pull stock and LN IMS bearings as well as our ez-out tool which allow removal of the stock bearing when the center stud breaks during bearing extraction. LN Engineering and Flat 6 Innovations were the first to develop tools and processes to carry out the replacement of the infamous intermediate shaft bearing in these engines. Prior to this, the IMS bearing was considered non-serviceable and the only option was buying a complete new engine if your engine suffered from an intermediate shaft bearing failure.
